Re: Weekend Bets...
Don't see too much blame for Dettori here Grumps... you know... just sometimes... horses no matter how good they are perturbed to be just dont click... Moore, Piggott or Cauthen could have been on board yesterday and I dont think anything would have been different.... re: the pacemaker all I think it done was confuse things as GH just ran his normal race (position wise that is).

C&P from Racing Post

Golden Horn’s trainer John Gosden agreed with Dettori's assessment that the combination of good to soft ground, which had earlier caused the defection of Gleneagles, and the colt’s freshness on his first start since winning last month’s Coral-Eclipse were factors for the below-par display.

“It's just a pity it rained, a pity that we didn't have Gleneagles and a pity for this horse as well,” the trainer said.

“Our fella was fresh and keen early on, basically did too much early on, with the pace of the race. He burnt too much petrol early. We put the pacemaker in and he set a nice even gallop but look how far they stood off the pacemaker, and the pacemaker of the race - Arabian Queen - was the winner when you watch it again.

“Frankie just feel that he was hard to settle the first six. He didn't run in the King George obviously and was a very fresh horse since the Eclipse and he's rather gassed himself out in the ground."

He added: “He's gone in front of the filly and then just tired in what is dead ground. There's no doubt he's a much better horse on fast ground as we know which he has always run on.

“He found this ground not entirely to his liking, take nothing away from the filly, she's outstayed them all well and if you look back to The Grey Gatsby [in third] you see the Eclipse form still there.”

Brossia is a acca breaker

Re: Weekend Bets...
Even gosden blamed him athletico.

No point in a pace maker if you're gonna sit 8 lengths off it.

Made no difference to my bet either way as TGG was craps, but it was a poor ride.

Fuck knows how Cosgrave got the gig for a trainer like Haggas, but they are turning into a formidable pairing.

All over Haggas today.

In the first that's his third win in a row in that race and I think Besharah looks good in the next.

Re: Weekend Bets...
Dangerous that happy, not sure O'Meara has any interest in winning the race, as he only has 8 runners in it!!!

He's a cracking trainer O'Meara with a cracking stable jockey and one thing I've noticed with Tudhope, is he is superb at rarely picking the wrong horse to ride when they have more than the 1 runner.

Good understudy in Sam James too and as a stat man (basically a pleb), I couldn't touch Penitent purely because Nolan is 2 wins from 57 rides at York.

Haggas and Palmer have great records there so may go for one of theirs.

See how much fucking about all of this stat bollocks gets me, that's just one race analysed and I'll still lose!!! :o(

O'Meara says Mondialiste is his best chance of a winner this week

Runs Saturday no idea of the odds tho

Re: Weekend Bets...
I just thought he was outridden by de sousa personally who's a little stronger, though I've never really rated Frankie the jockey, he's more about Frankie the personality.

Re: Weekend Bets...
Woahhh... so Frankie Dettori is shit now yeah?? Didnt look too much jockey error for me... looked more the horse just didn't fancy dead ground (same as TGG).... maybe Aiden O'Brien called it right today...
